I’m inordinately proud to write about about my brother-in-law’s new film, which has just premiered in South Africa and will be showing nationally there from October 28.
Here’s the trailer:
It’s a heist-comedy-ensemble-piece, with some unforgettable set-pieces. South Africans will recognise the characters all too well, and for foreigners: this is your chance to see the rainbow nation at home.
Family privileges meant I saw the early edit of this film and laughed til my tummy hurt – apart from some nervy moments where I of course had to leave the room, so I can’t tell you about those (I’m a total film wimp). Seriously, it’s a future SA classic. My honey still quotes lines from it, and he’s not even South African.
See more info on their website www.skeemmovie.com and keep up with the buzz on the SKEEM Facebook page. And you can watch and download the trailer here on Vimeo.
In South African cinemas October 28th – go see it!
And for those of us in the rest of the world, I’ll keep you posted!

Its in Abu Dhabi next week!!!!
Two screenings at the film festival there, in a competition line-up with directors such as George Clooney (swoon….), Steven Soderbergh, Wim Wenders, Martin Scorsese, Wim Wenders, Werner Hertzog and Terry Gilliam! We all wish SKEEM and TIM GREENE the best of luck!!!
Rest of the world has to wait a bit more though…!
Thanks for the info… and please let us know if it comes to Europe/UK/US. x
